The Bhaba Valley Trek will take you through the Rupi Bhaba National Park. For the uninitiated, the Bhaba Valley is probably Kinnaur’s best kept and best looking secret. It is also one of the shortest routes connecting Kinnaur to Spiti. A historically important trade route between two untouched valleys, the pass is frequented by shepherds (Gaddis) who are often seen herding their sheep and goats across these verdant slopes.
The Bhaba Valley also has the most trekker friendly camping grounds. They are thickly wooded with a backdrop of towering snow clad peaks.
The camp grounds at Phustirang and Mulling are not just scenic. They are spectacularly beautiful. With their abundant, rich flora – ranging from Kharsu Oak, conifers of different kinds and multi hued grass and flowers. This undulating alpine pasture is also home to some of the most endangered and protected Himalayan wildlife. Including Blue Sheep, Musk Deer, Himalayan Black Bear, Himalayan Tahr, Fox and Snow Leopards.
In addition, the Valley is also a great area to indulge in some bird watching. Black-throated Jay, White-Capped Redstart, Yellow-Billed Chough, Orange-Flanked Bush Robin and the Crested Black Tit are some of the birds that can be spotted here.
This Diwali, join us on the Bhaba Valley Trek. We will take you through some of the most spectacular and outstanding views of the Himalayas. It’s your chance to celebrate the festival of lights under a sparkling starry sky.
